A summer challenge based on the "Judy Moody" book series. -

Leaders and parents can choose how many "thrill points" the girls need to earn.  You may choose to have the girls complete a certain number of tasks or earn a certain number of thrill points.  You may also choose to host a kickoff movie party, award each girl the fun patch, and then challenge your troop to see who can earn the most thrill points by your first meeting back in the fall.   Whatever you choose, your girls are sure to have a "Not Bummer Summer" by participating in this challenge!

CHALLENGE REQUIREMENTS

This challenge is based on the book/movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days.  Girls who participate in the challenge activities can earn the Diary of a Summer Girl fun patch.  Suggested challenges are included, but please feel free to adjust/adapt to better fit the needs of your group!  Girls do not need to do every activity to earn the fun patch; however, the activities are so much fun that they won’t want to do just one! ☺

This summer challenge is based on the new "Mouse Scouts" book series by Sarah Dillard.  This fun new series follows two mouse friends- Violet and Tigerlily- as they have adventures with their Mouse Scout troop.  My 2nd grade class is in love with this series, and my 5th grade Girl Scout troop is as well!  Many reviewers are comparing "Mouse Scouts" to "Junie B. Jones" because of its appeal to elementary readers.  This series is easily appropriate for grades K-5 (Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts).  Your troop is sure to recognize some fun scouting traditions while completing this challenge!

CHALLENGE REQUIREMENTS

In honor of the summer games, you are challenged to compete in several fun areas such as Olympic History or Events Preparation.  To receive your "Go for the Gold!" fun patch, it is only necessary to "compete" in one event.  However, many Olympic athletes compete in more than one event, so try as many as you would like!  You may be surprised by which event becomes your favorite!
